Serving Food Properly - Also for WLS patients

This is not about etiquette; serving food from the left, removing from the right or vice versa, which is completely irrelevant to me,  or how to adorn the plate and arrange the napkin and the silverware; not even about the serving size. This is about a new serving rule that people will learn just by common sense and practice. What the heck am I talking about? I will give you a few examples:

Expectations change with technology advances

  1. Would you offer your guests warm beer? Everybody expects a cold beer, right? (Because everybody has refrigerators)
  2. What about iced tea without ice? or warm? (Same as above)
  3. Melted Ice cream?(Same)
  4. Cold tortillas? For me that would not be impolite but an insult; (Every home has different means to heat up food; cold tortillas send a strong signal that you are not welcome)
  5. Lukewarm coffee?  (No good)

I think you get the idea; there are certain expectations very well established:
Warm beer? you don't have a refrigerator? or you did not even bother to put the beers in the refrigerator before the party?
Cold tortillas?  No way
Would you serve food -A steak for instance- on a plate that will start getting it cold as soon as it is served?
If you are like most people...You are doing it.

When you are dining at home, do you preheat the plates for yourself and spouse? It is very complicated* or at least it used to be and hot plates are difficult to handle but Now there are HotSmart Plates

*Why complicated? it takes too long, the handling is difficult and preheated normal plates get cold very fast anyway. but now things have changed, see the...

Serving food properly is serving it on a plate that keeps food warm
